Tom Reffhaug has worked with an architectural approach to IT for 15 years, and has been influenced by several trends and drivers along the way.  It is only the last two years, however, that he has felt the increasing interest for enterprise architecture from business managers. 

Traditionally, enterprise architecture has been seen as a function in the IT-organization, but lately Tom has seen new architecture practices organized closer to the business, and often reporting to C-level management.  

Tom's personal observation has revealed three major drivers for that development:

1) digitalization of business models and core processes

2) the adoption of cloud services

3) the fusion between architecture and design methodologies and frameworks


Tom's presentation will focus on how those three drivers, in his experience, have enabled C-level managers to engage with enterprise architects in a whole new way.
