How to start a chapter
To set up a chapter the following is required:
If you are proposing to start a chapter please send us your name and the geographical area you are interested in starting an AEA chapter in. Generally we only allow one chapter per city or region. We will consider your request after evaluating the responses to the online submission form.
- You must appoint 3 officers; a chair, vice-chair and Treasurer or Secretary.
- Review the bylaws (they may need to be amended in order to adhere to local laws) and fill in relevant information and sign.
- File articles of chapter formation in your local area
- Determine a fee if any
- Plan, promote official first meeting. This meeting may also be used to officially elect officers and vote to approve bylaws.
** Anyone joining a chapter must first be a member of AEA
Each Chapter will be given their own chapter website group on the main AEA site where they will be given admin access. Chapters will be responsible for adding content and keeping their website up to date.
Please download and review the bylaws below. If your request to start a chapter has been approved then you will be asked to fill in the bylaws, sign and return to us.
